Thank you so much for hosting the annual hot chocolate and visit with santa night.   Our family has now made it an annual Christmas tradition. The children look forward to pressing buttons and seeing what new? What a generous and wonderful way to collect for a charity.   You really do make a difference. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Jan 22 2008 11:06 am
At Shane's invitation my wife and I packed up our four- and two-year-old and we made our way out from North Delta to PoCo to see the fabled lightdisplay.   Andrew is our four-year old, and he's a little star-struck around
Santa so he was a little worried and shy in the line-up waiting for his time
with the red elf.
After some negotiations and briefing on my part, Andrew mustered the courage
to sit on Santa's lap while I sat next to them on the bench with two-year- old Geoffrey.   Shane readied the camera and Santa asked the timeless question, "What would you like for Christmas?"   Andrew got this anxious look in his eyes and totally forgot the line he'd been rehearsing while in the line waiting his turn.
"Dinobots!" he blurted out.   Then with a panicked look of recall he added,
"Please....Santa."
"Well...have you been a good boy this year?" asked Santa.   A look of panic
visibly crossed Andrew's face.   No one had told him there'd be a test and
interview!
"Yes." he meekly replied with a faint nod of his head.
"Is your room tidy?" came Santa's next question.   A flash of panic was now
visible in Andrew's eyes; his room looks like any other 4 year-old's.
"Yes." he half replied with an even fainter nod.   How sweet I thought, he's
learning to lie.
"Even under the bed?"   You could see it in his eyes: "Another question?"
"Yes," Andrew confirmed.
"Well then, come Christmas Day, there may be a surprise for you in your
stocking.   Merry Christmas!"   Santa then asked Geoffrey what he would like,
but being only two and not really knowing Santa, the question was lost on
him. (Though I did expect him to answer "Dora!")
We took a brief walk though the lights and some photos in the rain before
heading home.   My wife and I were impressed that both kids managed to stay awake for the drive home.
Upon our arrival at home, Andrew rushed to the front door as usual; he likes to open the door.   Once unlocked he rushed through the door and into the
front hallway.   Immediately his jacket and a shoe went flying.   Two steps
towards the stairs and the other shoe dropped, literally.   He ran upstairs
to his room and my wife and I looked at one another asking "what's he up
to"?
We went up to see what was happening in his room.   When we opened the door,
Andrew was picking up toys from the middle of his floor and firing them into his closet.   BANG...CRASH...THUD..
"What are you doing Andrew?" I asked.
"SANTA...Clean room...CRASH"   By now, he'd cleared the middle of the floor
and began removing all the action figures from under his bunk bed (there's no bottom bed, so we collect many of his toys under there) and sending them to the closet too.
At this point, my wife came into the room with a toy that Andrew had left in
the living room earlier that day.   She placed it in the middle of his floor
and let him know he'd left it in the lounge.
"Noooooo...Santa wants the room clear BANG!"   Another toy hit the pile in
the closet.   To this day (the 24th) we still can't put anything in the middle of the room without him banishing it to the closet.
So, I thank you all for helping create a most treasured Christmas memory and
from my family to yours, Merry Christmas and a Happy 2008.

Tony.

I am unfortunately to far away to get to see your lights in person.(Texas) But I just wanted "the xmas guy" to know that it takes a very special person to spend so much of his time putting up this unbelievable display of lights for the enjoyment of others. I hope your holidays are blessed with good fortune & good health, May God Bless You all through the year also.
Thanks for making it possible for the rest of us in the world to view this gorgeous display.

Thanks so much for the picture (*from Picture Nite with Santa).   We are thrilled to have it.   This was the second year in a row that we have taken our grandchild to see your wonderful light display.   He loves pressing the buttons and seeing all the lights.   This was the first year that he saw Santa at your place and you can be sure that he was very excited (he's only three years old).
We certainly have enjoyed your efforts -   and the hot chocolate!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
